Suarez...
What was he thinking?
Today, in the game between Liverpool and Chelsea, the striker Luis Suarez bit the hand of Chelsea defender Branislav Ivanovic in the hand after a duel. The incident wasn't picked up by the referees and will be the moment everyone will talk about in the days that comes. The thing is, he has done this before! When he played for Ajax in 2010, he bit PSV-player Otman Bakkal in the collarbone and received a 7 game suspension.
At the time of the biting, the score was 1 - 2 in Chelsea's favor and Suarez should have been sent off. Instead Luis Suarez stayed on the field the rest of the game and after 6 minutes and 30 seconds into overtime, he scored the equalizer and won a point for Liverpool.
The journalists have already started to write about Suarez' end on Anfield and even the supporters are reactive with anger towards the striker. They are basically tired of his actions that does not belong on the football-field.
Here is what he wrote on twitter after the game:
After the game Liverpool manager Brendan Rodgers wouldn't make a statement about what will happen. He said that they will review the footage, but wouldn't say anything about how the club will react if they find him guilty.
In my opinion, the club or manager should make a statement right away stating that this is not a tolerable action and that they intend to punish him, preferable for the remainder of the season and maybe even more. The FA will surely look at this and punish the player.
What do you think his punishment should be? Will he be sold as a result of this?
